Rotary Level Indicators

Tried and True Point Level Measurement

BinMaster rotaries offer a cost effective means to prevent bin overflows. The BMRX and MAXIMA+ feature low power consumption, "de-engergized" operation - which shuts down the motor when material is present - and automatic alerts to power failure.

BMRX Rotary Level Indicator
Alerts to Bin Levels to Prevent Overfills

The BRMX rotary paddle bin level indicator provides reliable point level detection and measurement of dry bulk solids in bins, tanks, silos, hoppers and conveyors for materials including grain, feed, plastic pellets, cement and aggregates. Mounted on the top or side of a bin, the BinMaster BMRX alerts operators when bins are full without the rigors and risks associated with climbing and continuously checking bins levels. When material is not in contact with the paddle, the paddle rotates freely. When the paddle comes into contact with dry bulk material, the paddle stops rotating and sends a signal – normally through the use of a horn or light – to alert that the bin is full.

Maxima+ Rotary Level Indicator
Advanced Fail-Safe Protection and Status Notification

The MAXIMA+ is BinMaster’s most advanced rotary level indicator featuring a complete fail-safe system that alerts to the loss of power, failure of the motor, or failure of the electronics – making it the best choice for applications where it is essential that the rotary operate continuously and the user be knowledgeable of the unit status. A red LED indicator light on the top of the unit indicates its status, providing for quick visual monitoring of the unit. Appropriate for wide variety of bulk solids including powders, pellets or granular materials, the MAXIMA+ alerts the user to bin status via an audible horn or light wired to the unit. Notification occurs when the paddle stops rotating and is in a covered condition; it alerts again when the paddle begins to rotate as the bin is emptied and the paddle is uncovered.

The MAXIMA+ can be mounted on either the side of the bin or at the top of a bin using a shaft extension. To prolong motor life and to optimize energy costs, the motor of the MAXIMA+ will “de-energize” once the shaft stops turning when material comes into contact with the paddle, unlike competitive rotaries that will go into a “stalled” condition. When material falls away from the rotary paddle, the motor automatically energizes and the paddle starts rotating. The MAXIMA+ also features a compact screw-top enclosure providing easy access to the motor and electronics. BinMaster offers a variety of stainless steel and polyethylene paddles in single and three-vane designs to accommodate a wide range of industries and applications

Mini-Rotary Level Indicator
Compact Rotary Level Control for Small Bins and Hoppers

The economical and compact Mini-Rotary is designed for controlling material levels in smaller bins and hoppers that contain plastics, food, seed, chemicals and other powder and bulk solid materials. Its small size, yet rugged design allows for use of a level sensor where other types of equipment simply will not fit. Its principle of operation is simple, a slow speed motor rotates the paddle when no material is present. Then, when material comes into contact with the paddle, the paddle stops and an alert – such as a light or horn – will notify the operator the bin is full. When the bin is emptied, the paddle again begins to rotate, alerting the operator that a refill is necessary.

The Mini-Rotary has few moving parts and is simple to install on the side or top of a bin. It is appropriate for a variety of light to heavy materials – allowing for motor torque sensitivity to be easily adjusted. A variety of paddles are available, making it suitable for a wide range of materials. A four-vane polycarbonate paddle is appropriate for light to medium density materials, while a bayonet style polycarbonate paddle is easily insertable and can be used with higher density materials.

3DLevelScanner Brochure
3DLevelScanner Technical Data

3DLevelScanner*
Revolutionary Non-Contact Measurement

The 3DLevelScanner uses non-contact, dust penetrating technology to create a visual map of the material surface in storage and process bins. It measures the material surface at multiple points to accurately calculate the volume and mass, even in conditions where the material surface is highly irregular. The 3DLevelScanner operates at extremely low frequencies, allowing it to penetrate through high moisture and dust with very little loss of signal power. The processor obtains signals based upon the estimated times of arrival and direction of received echoes, and generates a 3-dimensional image of the surface that can be displayed on a remote screen. Whereas most technologies measure with a single point time-of-flight, the 3DLevelScanner uses both time-of-flight and direction using three independent channels to transmit and receive which enables it to make highly accurate measurements.

The 3DLevelScanner can work in small to very large bins and can measure up to 200’ tall and 150’ wide. It is versatile and can accommodate a wide variety of vessels or containers including open bins, bulk storage rooms and warehouses. The 3DLevelScanner is offered in three models –‘S’ for single point level measurement, ‘M’ which adds mapping capabilities, and ‘MV’ with both mapping and visualization graphics tools – for flexibility for any application and budget.

Suited for most powder or bulk solid material, it is proven to perform in coal, cement, aggregates, flyash, chemicals, fertilizers, food, grain, plastic pellets and powders. Any industry requiring accurate, non-contact measurement technology will benefit including feed, grain and seed; cement, aggregates and concrete; fertilizer; milling and food manufacturing; biofuels and ethanol; chemicals and pharmaceuticals; plastics manufacturing; power; mining and quarries; paper and wood pulp; primary metals and power.

3DLevel Manager Software*
User-Friendly Inventory Measurement & Analysis

The 3DLevelScanner can measure the level, volume and mass of powder and bulk solid materials in almost any kind of container including large bins, bulk solids storage rooms and warehouses. It measures the material level at many points throughout the bin, and then calculates the volume and mass of powder and bulk solids.

Each 3DLevelScanner comes with the 3DLevel Manager software appropriate for the model purchased. The software is used to load individual bin parameters and information regarding the material being measured, to ensure that measurement data is accurate. The software displays measurement results and creates a historical log of measurements that can be used for analysis and inventory planning purposes. For the "M" and "MV" versions of the software, the 3DLevel Manager Software also creates a visual map of the physical surface of the material.

Mapping capability is ideal for bins where material fills the bin unevenly making the topography of the bin highly irregular – such as bins with multiple filling sites, very large bins, or for materials that tend to pile or clump. 3DLevelScanner is proven to perform even in extremely dusty environments, where other technologies have failed to work reliably. Plus, it is great for non-contact situations where you want to prevent the measurement device from touching the material such as foods or highly corrosive materials

Flow Detect

Flow Detect 1000
Flow / No Flow Detection for Solids and Powders

The BinMaster flow detect system consists of two components – the FDS1000 Remote Sensor Probe which is mounted in a pneumatic pipeline, gravity chute or feeder – and the FDC1000 Control Console which is mounted in an area accessible for users to read the console during operations. The system promotes continuous and efficient operations by informing users that solid or powder materials are flowing and alerts them if the flow status has changed, power has been lost, or if communication between the Remote Sensor Probe and the Control Console has been interrupted.

The FDS 1000 Remote Sensor Probe is a high quality, industrial grade instrument that senses flow / no-flow conditions using Doppler technology (microwave) to provide highly reliable and sensitive motion detection. It works by transmitting a low energy signal through a Teflon process seal into the material flow stream. A portion of the signal is reflected back to the sensor, with the movement of material causing a frequency shift – called the Doppler shift – which is used by the sensor to detect material flow.

Dust Detect

Dust Detect 1000
Continuous Monitoring of Particulate Emissions

The Dust Detect 1000 is a single device dust detector that has been specifically designed to continuously monitor the flow of particulate emissions from small stacks and emission points being passed through an air filtration system. It easily installs in the exhaust ductwork and can be used with several types of filtration systems. The probe on the Dust Detect 1000 is able to recognize abnormal particulate levels outside user-defined preset parameters and initiates an alarm when changes in emission exceed these levels.

Dust Detect 1000 utilizes triboelectric technology, whereby the collision and interaction of particles with the probe rod cause a small electrical charge transfer to occur. This small electrical charge provides a signal that is monitored by the electronics. It is designed to prevent false readings, even if an accumulation of dust forms on the sensor rod. Emissions readings are averaged, not smoothed, to eliminate false alarms. It can be set to make pre-warning indicator alerts to potentially hazardous situations or be set to provide an instantaneous alarm or one-minute averaged readings. BinMaster offers a 4-20 mA output for applications where Dust Detect 1000 will be used with a PLC.
