Concrete Distribution Systems Concrete Batch Feeding Systems
European Design and Field Tested Precast Concrete Overhead Distribution Systems: traveling hoppers, flying buckets, and discharge systems that revolutionize delivery of precast concrete to user stations.
Create a new batch plant quickly or retrofit an existing plant with the assurance of a proven design; Sicoma's piggyback system fits right on top of the mixer. It gives you an aggregate holding hopper or scale, cement scale and water tank or scale, all perfectly tailored to the mixer.

Precast Concrete Overhead Distribution Systems

Fully field tested and in high demand in Europe, Sicoma brings their innovative precast concrete overhead distribution systems to North America. Traveling hoppers, flying buckets and discharge systems revolutionize the delivery of precast concrete to user stations. Suitable for both wet and dry cast, they can be installed in places where conventional bucket systems are impossible. They can be configured to deliver concrete to both sides of a bay divider without the use of chutes.

vertical rail flying bucket Vertical rail flying bucket
Attachable to a wall or most vertical supports, the bucket can be customized for the application.
  • Uses same supports as overhead crane, operates underneath.
  • Leaves almost total freedom for crane operation.
  • High operating speed.
  • Curved surfaces and corners no problem.
  • Hydraulic swing gate for discharge.
  • Proven design, many existing applications.
twin horizontal rail flying bucketTwin Horizontal Rail Flying Bucket
Conventional system, the bucket can be customized for the application
  • High operating speed
  • Operates on straight or curved rails
  • Double clamshell hydraulic discharge gate, perfect for dry-cast concrete
  • Proven design, perfect for many applications
rollover flying bucketRollover Flying Bucket
Twin rail operation, can climb grades of 15 degrees if necessary
  • High operating speed
  • Operates on straight or curved rails
  • Rollover discharge, perfect for wet cast concrete
  • Proven design, many existing applications
monorail flying bucketMonorail Flying Bucket
Single rail, single or twin compartment
  • High operating speed
  • Operates on straight or curved rails
  • Double clamshell hydraulic discharge gates, perfect for dry-cast concrete
  • Electric or hydraulic propulsion
  • Proven design, many existing applications
swiveling delivery beltSwiveling Delivery Belt
Shown on twin rail bucket, this versatile system allows mix to be delivered to either side of the rail system. Belt is stored in-line with track while traveling and rotates to either side for delivery
  • Solves dual-bay precast plant delivery problems without need for chutes
  • Compact, simple, reliable design
  • Proven design, many existing applications
concrete receiving hoppersConcrete Receiving Hoppers
Accept concrete from traveling hoppers or direct from mixer and travel to pouring site on rails, by overhead crane or fork lift truck.
  • Extremely versatile, suits many different types of operation
  • 3 cu.m. (3.9 cu. yd.) capacity
  • Pneumatic discharge gates with resevoir
  • Proven design, many applications

Concrete Batch Feeding Systems

    Specifications:
  • Aggregate holding/weigh hopper with hydraulically operated butterfly type gate, powered by mixer power pack and 270W electric vibrator.
  • Cement weigh hopper with pneumatically operated slide gate, aeration jets, flange for vibrator and mounting hole for WAM air filter.
  • Water weigh tank with single pneumatically operated butterfly valve (regular scale or holding tank) or large and small valves (for decumulative weighing, fast/slow feed).
  • Connection flange on mixer top cover to fit optional air bag dust collector (strongly recommended).
  • All load cell and electrical connections brought to NEMA-12 junction box on frame.
The piggyback frame is available in the following variations:
  • Aggregate scale.
  • Aggregate holding hopper.
  • Water scale tank (one or two discharge valves).
  • Water holding tank (for use with meter, one discharge valve).
  • No water tank (use external meter, 3-1/2 for MAO4500, 4-1/2 for all others).

Create a new batch plant quickly or retrofit an existing plant with the assurance of a proven design; Sicoma's piggyback system fits right on top of the mixer. It gives you an aggregate holding hopper or scale, cement scale and water tank or scale, all perfectly tailored to the mixer.
  • Range of models to suit all MAO mixer sizes.
  • Designed to give fastest discharge, ensuring fastest mixing cycle times and highest production per hour.
  • Hopper sizes are perfect for the mixer - no design work required; guaranteed success.
  • Frame bolts into standard mounting holes in mixer frame - installed easily and quickly.
  • Load cells and discharge gates included. Just add solenoid valves.
  • When ordered with mixer, cover is prepared with connection flanges and boots.
  • Sicoma mixer frame has the extra strength to take the extra static and dynamic load of this structure - both convenient and a safe structural design.
  • Matching bins, silos, aggregate scale and conveyor can be supplied.

To obtain the fastest mixing cycles and maximum throughput for the size of mixer, it is essential to feed the mixer at high speed. This makes a skip hoist or holding hopper essential if the plant is a low profile design with aggregate scale at ground level or lower. An inclined belt, pocket belt or bucket elevator can lift the aggregates to the level of the holding hopper. If the plant is high profile, vertical or tower type, the aggregate holding hopper can be mounted on load cells to become a scale. We can advise on the design as well as supplying the equipment from one of our partner companies, giving you a guaranteed solution. Note that on some models, the discharge gate mechanism prevents proper opening of the access covers. In these cases, access is possible from one side only.
